There can be several reasons:

• Spelling: Enter the exact product name where possible. Product names remain in German, including in the English search.
• Product not listed: Some supermarkets only list part of their range, such as offers (Aldi Nord, HOFER, LIDL & PENNY) or nationally available products.
• Supermarket not covered: We currently focus on everyday shopping, such as groceries, drugstore products and fuel prices.
• Technical issue: Occasionally the problem is on our side. Let us know in the Preisrunter Community, by email or on Instagram or X (Twitter).

Why should I use the exact product name?
Our search handles many typos and categories, but cannot always recognize every synonym, dialect or informal term (for example, “Klopapier” instead of “Toilettenpapier”). We keep improving it.

Try adding the brand, unit or pack size to narrow your search. We continually improve the number and order of results.

How can I filter products further?
Use the filters at the top to select supermarkets or dietary preferences. For example, select “Gluten-free” and search for “Germ”, or select “Vegan” to find vegan products. Product search terms remain in German.

Relevance is our recommended default. It balances the closest matches with lower prices. The first result may be the most relevant product for your search rather than the cheapest one. You can change the sort order at any time.

Can brands or supermarkets pay for a higher position?
Advertising partnerships featuring promoted products are clearly labelled as advertising. Without that label, nobody can pay to change the order. We do not favour specific products in our search algorithm. Every product and supermarket can appear at any position.

Search for a product, then copy and share the link from your browser’s address bar. You can also use your browser’s share function. Your search term is included.

Are filters and settings shared too?
Not yet. The shared link includes the search term, but not the selected filters or sort settings.

We welcome suggestions and constructive criticism to help improve Preisrunter.
